Tulare County in Visalia, California forced their way into my private home and property
( on land zoned for livestock ) without warrants or probable cause and they stole my older, innocent, gentle dogs and killed my cats. Dan Bailey of Tulare County Animal Control dragged my red long hair cat, "Webster", by the neck strangling at the end of that loop pole. Dan Bailey dragged poor "Webster" in the dirt as my beautiful "Webster" struggled desperately to get his little delicate paws straightened out under him so that the twine tightly closed around his throat would not kill him. Tulare County killed "Webster" and three of my pure bred Persian kitty cats who had been together and with me all of their lives, over ten years.
Michelle Shanley is an employee at the Tulare County Animal Shelter who calls herself an "adoption co-ordinator". Though it is a violation of our civil rights , Michelle Shanley has our "pets" killed rather than returned to their rightful, legal owners.. Michelle Shanley had my healthy, loving cats killed and she chose to refuse to release my eight elderly dogs to a waiting rescue, foster person who offered money to the Tulare County Animal Shelter just to save the lives of my devoted, innocent animals and keep them together as they had been with me all of their long lives. Michelle Shanley is not an expert on animal care or animal behavior and she knew full well my dogs were healthy and much loved and well cared for and she chose to watch them be killed, or separated and given away to people they did not know instead of release them to the capable, experienced foster care person. I pleaded with Michelle Shanley to release my animals to the approved of foster home and Michelle was assured that my dear family would be in a safe home so that legal matters could be addressed in court and the judge who insisted he would revisit the "case", which was a property maintenance issue, that had already been resolved, could alter the outcome as promised. Michelle Shanley actually laughed about the devastation I suffered seeing Tulare County Animal Control torture and kill my family of cherished "pets". Michelle Shanley thought it was funny that she could not actually identify who of my beloved cats had been killed by Tulare County Animal Control.
What purpose does Tulare County Animal Control serve? They don't care about the lives of the animals.....they tortured and killed them. I am an established professional illustrator and designer who creates for children and writes and illustrates children's books...one due to be published about the little cat "Sparrow" who had saved the lives of two tiny newborn kittens. "Sparrow" could have been returned to me but Michelle Shanley gave her away. I have agonized over the loss of my little "Sparrow" and my beloved dogs whom I had cared for and cherished all of their lives. Tulare County ended my life and the lives of my precious family members. Michelle Shanley had the opportunity to save my animals and return them to the home they had known and loved all of their lives, but she chose to have them killed and/or sold or given away.
June 16,2009 Tulare county invaded the private property and home of illustrator, designer, Coral Kerr. They impounded her family pets(killing 3 innocent dogs and 10 cats)refusing to release them for three months. Tulare County forced their way into Ms. Kerr's property again August 2,2010 arresting her, attempting to taser her a 98 pound 63 year old woman impounded her animals for 5 months demanding $13000."Michelle" gave all of Ms. Kerr's elderly animals to strangers or killed them.

OMG, I am so, so sorry. Unfortunately, Tulare county and other shelters down there in the central valley are hell holes with people who don't give a damn. I volunteer with a rescue that pulls dogs out of those shelters regularly. Hell holes ran by uncaring idiots. Again, I am so sorry.
ReplyDeleteThis was very disturbing for me to read as I too have had a horrific experience with TC Animal Control. Very recently my cold hearted neighbor was irresponsible in owning his well known to the neighborhood as the "killer dog", He too knew all too well of the damage his dog has caused in the past and to others in the neighborhood. One morning I was told my cat had been attacked by the "killer dog" so quickly I ran to my Cat (we'll call him THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!) I was hoping it wasn't too late... so much for thinking positively. There I stood tears running down my face, blood rushing through my veins with hate for what this dog had done and heartbroken over the knowing the Love of My Life is gone... forever. ;''( Of course rage took over and I quickly wanted answers so I began aggressively knocking on the door demanding for justice!! The least this killer dog owner could do is accept what his vicious dog had done and know the right thing to do is put it down. Mind you, this isnt the killer dog's first time as it has earned its name and rightfully so.. its killed more than a few of my beloved "pets" or as I like to call them family. The owner was not remorseful in that he was convinced he has done all he can by fixing the fence (which by the way a tree stump holding up a small gate is not building a fence! It was completely accessible for all animals to roam freely) then proceeds to tell Me to keep my cats inside...(let's just say...leash laws don't apply to cats. Idiot) So there I was faced with having to bury the Love of My Life... here I was trying to give a good country living outdoor/indoor home for my animals and they aren't able to enjoy life for longer than a year because their lives will be taken. I was told by a reliable source this neighbor frequently would find dead animals in his yard (The killer dogs way of showing off) and he wouldn't say a word to possible owners no, he decides that shoveling up the animal's and tossing them in the car junk yard is a better idea. It got me thinking what happened to the cats that went missing over the years... there had been quite a few. This too could've been the fate of the Love of My Life. In fact if i wasn't home the day of the vicious attack that's probably what the neighbor would've done. I'm disgusted with this... if TC animal control followed up on the killer dog's attack on another neighbor who reported having to get stitches on her hand from trying to protect her dog who was also taken to the vet for bite wounds I would still have my cat today... unfortunately nothing had been done but I will not stop till justice is served.
DeleteThere's a big fight that happened against TCAC that you should know about. They attacked Bill Fabricius too and things got real shady on the County's part -- before witnesses. If you want to know more, contact me.
